Kristin found herself immersed in black & white analog photography and in the darkroom in the 1990s. One of her first projects was making portraits of her most multicultural and diverse fellow students from 70 countries represented at United World College of the Atlantic. One of her first loves was observing the Atlantic Ocean coastline on campus. Even now, that experience is an important source of influence to her art. In addition, she is inspired by multiple disciplines: poetry, film, dance, music, philosophy and painting. For "A-MARE", she is sculpting and weaving her photography. She writes poetry in English, Chinese and Italian. In projects "A-MARE", "Arches in Italy", " 9_9" and "Fragments of Grey Matter", she marries her written and visual poetry of her images. She is also a certified yoga teacher and believes that life and her art traverse inside-out and outside-in.
