Dialogue of Changes is the latest project by international artist Kristin Man, developed during her residency at CasaLü_Sur in Mexico City. The title, echoes John Cage's Music of Changes which took inspiration from the same source, I-Ching aka Book of Changes (a classic originated in 1000-700 BCE). Though a manual of divination practice, it has been utilised by Gottfried Leibniz (mathematician-philosopher) to lay the foundation of the modern computer language and Dr. Carl Jung to aide clinical patients in psychological phenomenology. During this residency, Kristin Man asks questions about our world, draws I-Ching cards and then stack the elements representing the hexagrams in order to make her artworks in this series.
